Manager, Enterprise Architecture - Columbus Ohio

Job Description:

Position Summary:

Manages, leads, and develops a team of Technical Architects, cultivating and fostering a culture of innovation.  Creates new efficient, cost effective and innovative solutions and ensures the overall technical quality, integrity and evolution of the application portfolio supporting multiple business applications and infrastructure.  Ensures program delivery meets timelines and budgetary requirements.

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities   (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Develops and maintains technology strategies, technology directions, application roadmaps and technology roadmaps.
  • Analyzes and understands business and technical requirements and determines the best use of technology and resources to meet objectives.
  • Manages technical risk, currency and depth of applications supporting business application and manages the technologies supporting infrastructure.
  • Delivers programs and projects driven by the PMO, working with internal teams such business, infrastructure, information security and external vendors.
  • Implements reusable technology solutions that leverage shared components.
  • Manages technical quality through architecture and design reviews.
  • Remains current and knowledgeable regarding industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business needs and processes
  • Assists leadership team with estimating costs and technical resource planning for new solutions, technology upgrades and maintenance of application platforms.
  • Establishes standards for the enterprise and enforces compliance with technology and architecture standards.
  • Manages direct reports including staffing, training, development, motivation, performance assessment, succession planning and disciplinary actions.

Job Requirements:

  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Minimum of ten years IT experience, including at least five years in a leadership role required.
  • Experience managing people required.
  • Extensive knowledge of technology and IT market trends with experience leading large architecture initiatives across multiple types of systems and applications architecture, running on multiple hardware and software platforms required.
  • Proficiency in multiple architectural domains and various technologies including web, Java/JEE, and Data Warehouse technologies and awareness of SAP and PeopleSoft technologies required.
  • Experience in SaaS solution, third party product and cloud implementations required.
  • Experience in integration & SOA technologies, as well as, eCommerce implementations preferred.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required.
  • TOGAF certification preferred.
